Traffic Incident at 6500 Hillcroft

May 18, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 6500 block of Hillcroft about 6 p.m. on Wednesday (May 17).

The identity of the deceased female victim, 27, is being withheld pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

The HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Lieutenant H. Zamora, Sergeant J.A. Ogden, and Officers J.E. Tippy and R.A. Breiding reported:

A white Nissan pickup truck was northbound in the 6500 block of Hillcroft when it drove off the right side of the road and over a curb. The vehicle then struck a light pole before striking the female, who appeared to be walking northbound through the parking lot, while pushing an empty baby stroller. The female died at the scene. The driver, 43, did not appear to be intoxicated and claimed to have had a seizure prior to the accident.

No charges have been filed at this time pending further investigation.
