November 4, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 812 West Cavalcade about 10:30 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 3).

The victim is identified as Felix Gutierrez of 4538 Pecan Park. He sustained a gunshot wound to the back and was transported, by private vehicle, to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital in an unknown condition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Cruz and Officer R. Cervantes reported:

According to witnesses, Mr. Gutierrez pulled into the gas station at 812 West Cavalcade to buy gas and soon got into an argument with several Hispanic males
who were standing near several vehicles. The dispute continued and Gutierrez returned to his vehicle in an effort to leave. As he entered his vehicle, one of the suspects approached him from behind and shot him once in the back. The suspect and the other males then entered two vehicles and fled. Mr. Gutierrez was able to drive away from the scene, however, began to lose consciousness a short distance away. His girlfriend, who was inside of the vehicle, then drove the remaining distance to the hospital.

The suspects are described only as several Hispanic males driving a 1994-1995 white Ford Thunderbird and a light blue four-door Ford Taurus.
