October 9, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of two men at 7650 Clarewood about 5:35 a.m. on Sunday (October 8).

The victims, Rodrigo Alfaro Trejo, 35, and David Alfaro Martinez, 24, both of 7650 Clarewood, suffered gunshot wounds. Mr. Trejo died at the scene while Mr. Martinez was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital where he later died.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.W. Belk and Officer M.J. Miller reported:

The victims were in Trejo's vehicle, backing out of a parking space and leaving for work, when an unknown suspect approached them from behind and started shooting at the driver's side of the van. After being shot several times, Trejo drove his van into a parked vehicle in the parking lot. Martinez was shot in the back as he jumped out of the vehicle fleeing from the suspect. Trejo attempted to hide behind the driver's seat of the van, but the suspect opened the side cargo doors and shot the victim several more times.

The suspect's vehicle is described only as a small, dark gray vehicle. There is no known suspect or motive at this time.
