Update on Incident at 5700 Rampart

October 18, 2006 -- Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal stabbing of one man and wounding of two others at 6101 Glenmont, originally listed as 5700 Rampart, on June 24, 2006.

The deceased victim, Jose Jorge Gonzales, 24, of 5909 Glenmont suffered multiple stab wounds and died at the scene. Francisco Guarcas Zavala, 20, suffered non fatal stab wounds to the face and Jose Ponjo Yarka, 19, suffered blunt trauma and also survived. All three males were robbery victims.

The suspect, Marco Antonio Nuanco Velasquez, aka 'Tun Tun,' is charged with capital murder in the 209th State District Court. Investigators also hope to locate and question a person only known by the name of Alfredo, aka 'Lagrima,' who is a cousin of the suspect.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant L.A. Flores and Officers J. Selvera, D. Vasquez and T.R. Cunningham reported:

According to witnesses, the victims were part of a small group of males involved in a physical confrontation in the parking lot of a local restaurant. The argument escalated and two victims were stabbed multiple times. Four unknown Hispanic male suspects fled on foot.
