Traffic Incident at 2900 North Freeway

September 17, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 2900 North Freeway about 9:45 p.m. on Saturday (Sept. 16).

The identity of the deceased pedestrian, a 40-50 year-old female pronounced dead at the scene, is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant S.R. Sorge and Officer R. Davidson reported:

The driver of a black 2000 Cadillac Catera traveling northbound on the North Freeway struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the freeway. The pedestrian was crossing in an area not designated for pedestrian traffic. No charges were filed against the driver of the Cadillac. There were no other injuries.
