Update on Incident at 3316 DeSoto

September 21, 2006 -- Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 3316 DeSoto about 11:50 p.m. on Sunday (Sept. 10).

The suspect, Edwin Choyce Jackson, alias "Pinky" (b/m, DOB: 1/26/80), is charged with murder in the 263rd State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Tayron Spencer, 23, of 865 Wall. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant D.A. Ferguson and Officer T.S. Tyler reported:

The victim, witness and suspect were all friends. They were together at Highland Park when, for unknown reasons, the suspect shot the victim several times. The suspect then fled in the witness' vehicle, a 2004 blue Chevrolet Malibu with Texas license plates WT4TWF.
