Traffic Incident at 1500 State Highway 6 North

September 29, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 1500 block of State Highway 6 North about 12:20 a.m. today (September 29).

The identity of the deceased female is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D.S. Runyan and Officer S.
Martinez reported:

A Jeep Cherokee was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on the 1500 block of State Highway 6 North. The Jeep struck another vehicle from the rear, then rolled over. The driver of the Jeep was ejected and died instantly. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured. Toxicology results are pending.

The investigation is continuing.
