Incident at 1700 Bland

April 22, 2007 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 1700 Bland about 2:10 a.m. today (Apr. 22).

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C.W. Howard and Officer T.A. Andrade reported:

The victim and suspect were each driving vehicles in opposite directions in the 1700 block of Bland. As the vehicles approached one another, they reached a point where neither was able to pass. The suspect got out of his vehicle and approached the victim, who also got out of his vehicle. The two got into an argument and the suspect pulled a gun and shot the victim. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect is described only as a black male in his early to mid 20s, about 5 feet 11 inches tall and 140 to 150 pounds. He has shoulder length, braided hair with blue beads in the braids, and was wearing a blue shirt and blue shorts. His vehicle is a late 1980s to ‘90s gray, four-door Cadillac with chrome rims.
