Incident at 5801 Sunforest

April 26, 2007 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 5801 Sunforest on April 25 between midnight and 1 p.m.

The victim’s identity is Terrence Henry Leslie, 31, of 5300 DeSoto. He sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.W. Belk and Officer R.A. Swainson reported:

A witness called police after she walked up the stairway of an apartment building and observed directly below the body of Mr. Leslie. He was lying in the enclosed patio area of a vacant apartment unit at the Luxor Apartment Complex.

Mr. Leslie was identified as a Katrina evacuee. The motive for his murder has not been determined.
