Third Update on Investigation Into Missing Man Located at Hospital December 13, 2007 - Houston police have arrested two additional suspects charged in the stabbing of a man at 6060 Hooton Drive about 10:30 a.m. on December 3. The two female suspects are identified as Vanity Katherine Lange (b/f, DOB: 3/22/88) and Sade Nicole Johnson (b/f, DOB: 7/28/88). They are charged, along with Carlos Andre Guillory (b/m, DOB: 4-12-89) and Darrell Pickett II (b/m, DOB: 10-31-84), with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon in the 185th State District Court (Lange is charged in the 338th State District Court). The suspects are accused in the stabbing and robbery of Chester Ray Miles, 42, who was last reported in fair condition at Ben Taub General Hospital. The two females and Guillory are in custody. Pickett is out on bond. The HPD Homicide and Juvenile Divisions worked the investigation and exhaustively followed leads pertaining to Mr. Miles’ disappearance and subsequent condition. An investigation has determined Mr. Miles sustained his injuries at a motel at 6060 Hooton Drive. He had gone to the location to meet a female (Johnson). During that meeting, Guillory and Pickett showed up and beat and stabbed Miles. The two male suspects then fled in Miles’ red Dodge Neon. Two males were located in the vehicle at an apartment complex at 9200 Burdine about 10:45 p.m. on Dec. 4. One of them, Guillory, was arrested for failure to identify himself after lying about his identity. The other male was questioned and released. A third male, Pickett, was later identified as a possible suspect and taken into custody. Pickett provided a statement implicating his and Guillory’s roles in the assault on Miles. Miles was last seen by his wife as he dropped her off at work about 7 a.m. on December 3. She filed a missing person’s report later that evening. Miles was listed as a John Doe patient at Ben Taub General Hospital. On December 7, hospital officials learned that Miles was John Doe’s true identity. Miles’ condition steadily improved and he was able to identify the two suspects in this case. Lange was arrested on Tuesday (Dec. 11) and Johnson on Wednesday (Dec. 12).
