Traffic Incident at 2 Rittenhouse

February 7, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 2 Rittenhouse about 1:55 a.m. today (Feb. 7).

The deceased victim is identified as Danny Johnson, 30. He was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant R.C. Gonzales and Officer S. Bolton reported:

The victim and another person, Robert Herrera, 30, were driving in a silver Chrysler PT Cruiser. It appears the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it landed in a ditch on the north side of the street. The impact ejected Mr. Johnson from the vehicle before it landed in a ditch on the opposite side of the street. Herrera was injured and taken to a hospital by his father in a private vehicle.

There are no known witnesses to the accident at this time. The investigation is continuing.
