Incident at 2200 Canal

February 8, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 2200 Canal, at 4:50 a.m. today (February 8).

The victim’s identity is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W.P. Booth and Officer A.D. Brown reported:

A witness at a construction site in the 2200 block of Canal heard several gunshots and later found the victim in the street. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the torso and was pronounced dead at the scene. There is no known motive for the shooting at this time.
