Incident at 8600 South Course

February 21, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 8600 South Course on February 20, 2007 about 7:30 p.m.

The victim has been identified as Jyrae Demond Haley, 26, of 8600 South Course #2310. He sustained a single gunshot wound to the torso and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.C. Padilla and Officer M. Khan reported:

Haley was found in the courtyard area near building 12. His girlfriend advised investigators that the shooting possibly occurred inside his apartment. The apartment was processed for evidence and it appears that Haley was initially shot inside, left on foot and collapsed in the courtyard.
