Incident at 1521 Sherwood Forest

January 11, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating the death of an infant at 1521 Sherwood Forest #606 about 9:30 a.m. today (Jan. 11).

The female victim has been identified as Gregoryante Payne, 2 months old, of 1521 Sherwood Forest #606. Her cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant E. Gonzalez and Officer R.W. Chappell reported:

Homicide investigators were notified by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office of a dead baby brought to Memorial City Hospital. There were no apparent injuries to the child.

The investigation is continuing.
