Traffic Incident at 4400 North Eldridge Parkway

January 27, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 4400 North Eldridge Parkway about 5:15 p.m. on Friday (Jan. 26).

The name of the deceased victim is being withheld pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant J.A. Ogden and Officer S. Gamez reported:

A white Honda Civic was traveling south on North Eldridge Parkway when the driver either lost control of the vehicle or attempted a U-turn, causing it to be struck by a northbound gray Chevy van.

The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the Chevy was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with serious injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
