Update on Incident at 12600 Newbrook

January 31, 2007 -- Houston police have recovered the vehicle taken in the fatal shooting of a man at 12600 Newbrook about 6:50 p.m. on Friday (Jan. 26).

The victim’s silver Ford F-150 was seen shortly after the murder and was recovered on Saturday (Jan. 27) in the 12500 block of Wellington Park, near the murder scene.

The victim, Santos Ramirez, 40, of 7918 Corrales suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant N.T. Ruland and Officer E.H. Schmidt reported:

Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots in the apartment complex and went outside to investigate where they found Mr. Ramirez, a pizza deliveryman, lying on the pavement. The witnesses reported seeing an unknown suspect fleeing the scene in Ramirez's silver Ford F-150 pick-up truck bearing Texas license plates #9NPV09.
