Incident at 2300 McCue #272

July 9, 2007 - Houston police are investigating the wounding of an aggravated robbery suspect at 2300 McCue #272 about 5:20 p.m. on Sunday (July 8).

The suspect, who suffered a gunshot wound to the head, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.

The robbery victim is identified as Trevor Couch, 22.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant N.T. Ruland and Officer A. Mares reported:

Trevor Couch and two acquaintances were inside of his apartment when the two black males produced handguns and demanded money and property. The two males then fled through a parking garage pursued by Couch who armed himself with a 12-gauge shotgun. Couch yelled at the men to stop and fired one shot when one of the suspects turned towards him with a pistol in his hand. One suspect was struck in the head and the other fled.

The fleeing suspect is only described as a black male driving a late-model white Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
