Incident at 5602 Selinsky #205

July 11, 2007 - Houston police are investigating the death of a child at 5602 Selinsky #205 on December 29, 2006

The victim, Dennis Ray Driver Jr., 8 months, of 5606 Selinsky #205 was pronounced dead after arriving at Ben Taub General Hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant D. L. Robertson reported:

The cause of death was not immediately apparent, however in-depth forensic tests conducted by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office revealed the presence of cocaine in the blood and stomach of the baby Dennis Ray. The case was ruled a homicide due to acute cocaine toxicity.

The investigation continued and resulted in Grand Jury hearings. On July 10, 2007 a Harris County Grand Jury indicted. Dennis Ray Driver Sr. (b/m, DOB: 5-24-82), and charged him with murder in the 263rd State District Court.

On Wednesday (July 11), HPD officers arrested, without incident, Dennis Ray Driver Sr. at his apartment.
