Incident at 7402 Calhoun July 13, 2007 - The fatal shooting of a man at 7402 Calhoun about 11:40 p.m. on Thursday (July 12) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury. The victim, Phillip Earl Campbell, 27, of 77 East Edgebrook #910, suffered multiple gunshots wounds and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he later died. The shooter, Marcus Frederick, 34, was not injured. HPD Homicide Division Sergeants D.L. Robertson and M. Walker reported: Campbell arrived at Frederick’s apartment to confront him about an altercation the two had at the apartment complex about a week ago. When Frederick answered the door, Campbell apparently threatened him and then produced a handgun from his waistband. Frederick, who was also armed, then fired several shots from his gun, striking Campbell. Frederick provided a statement to homicide investigators and was released.
