Traffic Incident at 13300 East Freeway Service Road June 29, 2007 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 13300 East Freeway (Interstate 10 East) service road about 9:25 p.m. on Thursday (June 28). The male victim’s identity is being withheld pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office. HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant S.R. Sorge and Officer D.J. Gutierrez reported: The victim was riding on a bicycle from the north side of the East Freeway service road to the south side, east of the intersection, when he was struck by an off-duty HFD paramedic driving a 1998 Chevy pickup truck east on the service road near the Uvalde intersection. The paramedic immediately stopped to attempt aid but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is continuing.
