Both are expected to survive their wounds and remain in the hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Huynh and Officers L.K. Lovelace and K. Carr reported:

Landry and Mr. Davis are security guards for Sharpstown Mall and were involved in a verbal altercation in the parking lot of the mall. Landry pulled a semiautomatic pistol and shot Davis before fleeing in a black Isuzu Rodeo. Responding officers saw Jordan in the Rodeo and stopped him to obtain more information when Jordan shot himself while sitting in the vehicle. At the time, officers did not know he was the suspect in the shooting.
