Incident at 8700 Gustine Lane

March 16, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 8700 Gustine Lane about 10:45 p.m. on Thursday (March 15).

The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the head and was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital where he later died. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Wyers and Officers K. Lovelace and F. Mares reported:

HPD officers found the victim shot in the backseat of a Mercury Sable parked in the apartment complex parking lot. Witnesses reported the victim and suspect knew each other and had previously used drugs and conducted drug transactions together.

The suspect is described as a black male, 18 to 20 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build. He has gold teeth and is known by the street name of “Rock.”
