Traffic Incident at 10900 South Freeway May 10, 2007 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 10900 South Freeway (State Highway 288) about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday (May 9). The victim’s identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant G.T. Hall and Officer A. Taylor reported: A Chrysler PT Cruiser was traveling north on the South Freeway when it veered across the grassy median and into the southbound lanes. A Chevy Tahoe struck the PT Cruiser, causing it to roll over and strike a Mazda on the driver’s side door. The driver of the PT Cruiser was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chevy Tahoe was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with unknown injuries and the driver of the Mazda was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.
