Traffic Incident at 10500 Fuqua October 1, 2007 - Charges are pending against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident in the 10500 block of Fuqua about 3:30 a.m. today. The suspect, Jimmy Vargas (w/m, DOB: 2-1-86), is facing charges of intoxication manslaughter. The identity of the deceased male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office. HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant R.C. Gonzales and Officer D. Chall reported: Vargas was driving a blue Chevrolet truck at a high rate of speed when the truck left the road and struck the median, a pole and a tree on the south side of Fuqua. The accident caused a water line break and uprooted the tree. Vargas’ male passenger was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Vargas was taken to Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital and released into police custody. |
