Traffic Incident at 6100 Windswept

October 15, 2007 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a traffic accident in the 6100 block of Windswept about 8 p. m. on Sunday (October 14).

Angel Jesus Hernandez (H/m, DOB: 01-31-83), is charged with failure to stop and render aid and intoxicated assault with a vehicle in the 337th State District Court. He was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital for a mandatory blood draw.

The victim, Gissela Silvestre, 23 months of age, of 10101 South Gessner #112, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital with incapacitating injuries.

Hernandez was traveling west in the 6100 block of Windswept in a silver Pontiac G6 when he struck Gissela on the sidewalk and continued down the street. Hernandez then crossed into the center of the roadway in the 6300 block of Windswept and struck an oncoming purple Dodge Neon. The Pontiac then went into a parking lot at 6362 Windswept, struck two parked cars (a Chevrolet Malibu and a Toyota Corolla) and collided with a Ford truck entering the parking lot before Hernandez’vehicle came to a stop.
