Traffic Incident at 1500 Old Spanish Trail October 20, 2007 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 1500 block of Old Spanish Trail about 1 a.m. today (October 20). The victim, Ira Barrett, 46, was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D. Morgan and Officer J. Lin reported: Mr. Barrett was driving a tan Ford Focus westbound on Old Spanish Trail at a high rate of speed, according to a witness. The Ford struck a tree, which rested on the right side of the street, head on. The vehicle then spun and struck a second tree, causing the vehicle to wrap around that tree.
