Fatal Shooting at 1400 West Gulf Bank

April 7, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 1400 West Gulf Bank about 3:45 p.m. on Saturday (April 5).

The victim, Blake Lunde, 20, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound to the back and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants P. Munoz and M. Sosa reported:

Mr. Lunde was driving a pickup truck with one passenger when they pulled into a gas station. Once there, they were approached by a female who drove up and accused Lunde of almost running over her child. Lunde’s passenger argued with the woman. At that time, five black males approached the passenger and one of the males punched the passenger. Another male tried to pull the passenger out of the truck. Lunde backed up the pickup and slowly drove through the parking lot. Lunde then argued with the five males. One of the males ran across the street and came back with a gun. As Lunde left the store parking lot, that male was at the median on West Gulf Bank and shot at Lunde’s truck several times.

The gunman is described as 16 to 17 years old. He was wearing an oversized white T-shirt with blue jean shorts.
