April 14, 2008 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of an infant at 922 Christine about 1:30 a.m. today.

The victim, 10 week-old Jesslyn Barbery, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant P.J. LeBlanc and Officer B.D. Evans reported:

Officers responded to an infant death call at 922 Christine and found HFD personnel on the scene. Further investigation determined Baby Jesslyn was one of a pair of twins born prematurely, weeks earlier in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The infant’s mother, who was staying in Houston for the weekend at a friend’s residence, was awakened by the cries of the male infant twin and discovered Baby Jesslyn unresponsive.

At this time, there is no evidence of trauma or foul play.

An autopsy will be performed by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death of Baby Jesslyn.
