Fatal Shooting at 1406 West Gulf Bank

April 16, 2008 - Charges are pending against one of two suspects in the fatal shooting of a man at 1406 West Gulf Bank about 12:25 a.m. today.

The shooter, a juvenile male, 15, is being referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on a charge of capital murder.

A second unknown suspect, an accomplice, is still at large.

The victim, 47, suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. McStravick, J. Rubio, T.R. Hernandez, and Senior Police Officer X. Avila reported:

The victim was working as a cashier at a Valero convenience store at 1406 West Gulf Bank when two suspects approached the outside of the store. One of the suspects, who was armed, fired several shots through the window and fatally wounded the victim. The suspects then entered the store, stole the cash register and fled the scene. Responding patrol officers later arrested the juvenile suspect.
