Capital Murder Investigation at 10100 Westview

April 28, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in the 10100 block of Westview about 5:15 a.m. on Sunday (April 27).

The victim, 33, suffered a gunshot wound to the torso and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. R. McGalin and Officer D.W. Arnold reported:

The victim was walking on Westview when he was approached by a dark-colored sports utility vehicle. The suspect exited the vehicle from the passenger side, pointed a gun at the victim and ordered him to the ground, shot the victim once, and then fled the scene.

The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 170 to 180 pounds. He was wearing a black T-shirt and his face was covered with a bandanna. He was last seen in a 2002 black Chevrolet Tahoe, Texas license plates 30T-NMS. The vehicle is believed to have been taken in a robbery earlier Sunday morning (Apr. 27).
