Stabbing at 8650 Pitner

August 25, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the stabbing of a man at 8650 Pitner about 12 a.m. today.

The victim, 25, suffered a stab wound to his right rib cage area and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he underwent surgery and is reported in critical condition. His identity is pending notification to family members.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Countryman and Officers J. Johnston and B. Evans reported:

A witness reported seeing the victim and suspect involved in a physical altercation near the garbage dumpsters and soon after, the victim stumble from the location. The suspect went to his apartment to retrieve a knife, which he used to stab the victim. The suspect was then seen going to another apartment within the complex while the victim went to the front of the complex, where HFD paramedics found him.
