Investigation into Infants’ Deaths at 1710 Sam Wilson

December 10, 2008 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the deaths of two infants found inside a residence at 1710 Sam Wilson following a fire about 12:30 a.m. today (Dec. 10).

The identities and causes of death of the twin female victims, 18 months of age, are pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Dillingham and P. J. LeBlanc reported:

Patrol officers responded to a fire at a residence at 1710 Sam Wilson after HFD personnel found the victims inside the duplex after the fire was put out. A preliminary investigation determined the mother of the victims left two stove burners on and left the residence for a short period of time. The mother stated when she returned, she saw smoke coming from the duplex.

The female was question and released without charges, pending the outcome of the investigation and the autopsy results.
