Incident at 10301 Sandpiper February 4, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 10301 Sandpiper about 12:25 a.m. today. The victim is identified as Ernest Jackson, 24, of 6310 Dumfries. He suffered gunshot wounds to the torso and was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C.E. Elliott and Senior Police Officer J.C. Bonaby reported: Patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the Arbor Square apartments and found Mr. Jackson lying near a laundry room. He was able to speak with officers on the scene before being transported by paramedics to Ben Taub General Hospital. Jackson died from his injuries following surgery.
