Murder Charge Filed Against Suspect 8398 South Gessner

February 4, 2008 - Houston police have filed a murder charge against the suspect involved in the fatal shooting of a man at 8398 S. Gessner about 2:00 a.m. on Saturday (Feb 2).

Armando Aguirre RomeroThe suspect, Armando Aguirre Romero (Hispanic male, DOB: 7/7/1970), is charged with Murder in the 351st State District Court, No Bond.

The victim, Edgardo Velasguez, 27, of 9901 Richmond, sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Homicide Division Sergeant D. A. Ferguson reported:

The victim and another male were sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot of the business strip center when an unknown suspect(s) approached the vehicle. The suspect(s) opened fire striking the victim several times in the arm and chest. The suspect(s) and unknown male passenger fled the location in a late model Ford F-150 pickup truck with Mexico license plates.

Homicide investigators identified Armando Aguirre Romero as a suspect in the case and on Saturday (February 2) a Murder charge was filed against the suspect. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and is wanted at this time.
