2nd Update on Murder at 4898 West Bellforto

February 13, 2008 - Charges have been filed against a second suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of two males and wounding of one other at 4898 West Bellfort about 7 p. m. on Wednesday (February 6).

The suspect, Roberto Dianas (H/m, DOB: 3-7-89), is charged with capital murder in the 184th State District Court. Martin Santoyo (H/m, DOB: 4-13-89), was arrested on February 7 and is charged with capital murder in the same court. Dianas and Santoyo are accused in the killing of Pablo Cayax, 17, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the back and was pronounced dead at the scene and Roberto Gonzalez, 17, who suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Marcos Valesco, 18, suffered a gunshot wound to the back but is expected to survive his injuries.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. R. McGalin and Officer D. W. Arnold reported:

Officers responded to a drive-by-shooting call in a shopping center parking lot at 4898 West Bellfort and found Mr. Cayax deceased, inside of a vehicle.

Further information developed Dianas as a suspect involved in this case and on Tuesday (Feb. 12), he was arrested without incident.

A third suspect wanted in this case is described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a slim build and a dark complexion. He wears an afro-style haircut and could appear to be African-American. He is known as “Giant.”
