Fatal Traffic Accident at 13400 US Highway 90-A
February 15, 2008 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 13400 US Highway 90-A about 7 a.m. on Thursday (February 14).
The victim, Victor S. Sanders, 49, was pronounced dead on the scene.
Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant S.A. Perez and Officers A. Taylor and C.D. Jack reported:
A tan Nissan Maxima was traveling west bound on the off-ramp of US Highway 90-A and crashed into a red Pontiac traveling west. The red Pontiac was forced out of its lane and traveled over the median onto oncoming east bound traffic. Two vehicles struck the Pontiac, causing the driver to be ejected from the vehicle onto the eastbound lanes. It is likely a vehicle may have run over the victim. The driver of another vehicle stopped, interviewed with police, and was released without charges. The driver of the Nissan, the vehicle that initiated the accident, fled on foot. That unidentified driver is wanted for failure to stop and render aid.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the Nissan driver is urged to contact the Houston Police Department Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4065.
