Traffic Incident at 9500 South Freeway January 30, 2008 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 9500 block of the South Freeway (Highway 288 South) about 10:30 a. m. today (January 30). The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office. HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant G. T. Hall and Officer A. N. Taylor reported: The victim was traveling south on the South Freeway near Bellfort, in a blue Mercury Grand Marquis, when he crossed the wide median and struck the end of the bridge guardrail. It is possible the victim had a medical condition prior to the vehicle leaving the road. No other vehicles were involved in the accident and the investigation is continuing.
