Investigation into Stabbing of Male at 5500 North Gessner

July 8, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the stabbing of a juvenile male in the 5500 block of North Gessner about 10:15 p.m. on Monday (July 7).

The victim, Steven Burley, 14, of Houston, was stabbed one time in the chest and transported to Texas Children’s Hospital in serious condition.

A female suspect, 23, reported to be the ex-girlfriend of Burley’s sister, is being sought for questioning at this time.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer B.D. Evans and Officer J.R. Johnston reported:

The victim and his sister were walking on North Gessner when they were confronted by a female suspect who had a past relationship with the victim’s sister. When the victim apparently stepped into the street, the female suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed him.
