Man Found Dead Investigation at 12827 Ashford Chase Drive

July 8, 2008 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man at 12827 Ashford Chase Drive about 12:30 a.m. today (July 8).

The victim, Carlos Jackson, 30, of Houston, was transported to West Houston Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers T. W. Miller and M. J. Miller reported:

Mr. Jackson was a mentally challenged resident living with a caretaker in a community based home being operated by a licensed home healthcare facility at 12827 Ashford Chase Drive. He was being driven home from an outing at a daycare facility when the vehicle he was riding in broke down at a gas station. Jackson along with other passengers in the vehicle, were immediately transferred to another van and then taken home. A short time after arriving home, Jackson was found unresponsive and an ambulance was called. Paramedics began CPR and transported Jackson to the hospital, where emergency room personnel noted he had a high internal temperature.

There was no sign of trauma or foul play, however, an autopsy will be performed by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of Jackson’s death.
