Shooting at 7900 Clinton Drive

July 28, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 7900 Clinton Drive about 1 a.m. today (July 28).

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was taken into surgery. His identity is pending notification to family members.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants T. Hernandez, J. DelaCruz, W. Bush and Officers X. Avila and D. Gunter reported:

The victim and another male were involved in a disturbance with security guards at a tavern located at 7900 Clinton Drive. After being denied entry, the victim and the second male left the location and allegedly shot a gun at the security guards. The guards returned fire, and struck the victim.
