Kimberly started feeling sick about 4 p.m. last Wednesday (May 28) and her mother took her to a hospital where she was treated for a virus or infection and sent home with medicine. The mother gave her medicines, and then visited a doctor on Friday when Kimberly’s fever would not subside. The family’s doctor stated that Kimberly was suffering from dehydration and needed to go to Texas Children’s Hospital. The family brought Kimberly back to their residence and called for an ambulance. She was taken to Texas Children’s Hospital where she died.
