Suspect Sought in Shooting at 8801 South Braeswood

John GreenJune 4, 2008 - Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the shooting of a man at 8801 South Braeswood about 4 a.m. on Tuesday (June 3).

The suspect, John Gregory Green (b/m, DOB: 5-4-64), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 248th State District Court. He was seen in a 1994 green Nissan van with a purple hood, and Texas license plates BJH-534. A photo of suspect Green is attached to this news release.

The victim, Michael Blackburn, 38, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where he remains in critical condition.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers R. A. Swainson and A. Mares reported:

Officers responded to a shooting call at the Braescourt Apartments at 8801 South Braeswood and found Mr. Blackburn shot. Further investigation determined Green shot Blackburn after an argument, and then fled the scene.
