Truck Driver Fatally Shot at 9004 North Freeway
June 9, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 9004 North Freeway about 10:40 p.m. on Sunday (June 8).
The victim, 31, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. W. McStravick and P. J. LeBlanc reported:
The victim, a fuel truck driver, was delivering fuel to a Mobil station at 9004 North Freeway when he was approached by a male suspect who tried to rob him. As both men struggled, the suspect shot the victim several times. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.
The suspect is described only as a black male, 18 to 20 years of age, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build and a dark complexion. He was wearing a dark colored sweat suit with a matching stripe down the pants’ legs and the jacket sleeves, and a dark colored baseball cap.
