Death of Woman at 2000 Goodyear

June 12, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the death of a woman at 2000 Goodyear about 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday (June 11).

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity and cause of death are pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C.M. Cegielski and Officer B.W. Nabors reported:

Homicide investigators were called to the scene of an ammonia leak and plant explosion at the Goodyear Rubber and Tire Company, 2000 Goodyear, after the body of the victim was found near the explosion site. Chemicals released in the area prevented Goodyear officials from searching the area immediately after the explosion.
