Fatal Accident at 13800 Gulf Freeway Service Road June 16, 2008 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 13800 block of the Gulf Freeway (Interstate 45 South) service road about 1:35 a. m. today. The male victim, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant J. A. Calley and Officer D. Hall reported: The victim was driving a white Chevrolet Tahoe south on the Gulf Freeway when he got off at the Scarsdale exit at a high rate of speed. The victim then lost control of the Tahoe and struck a freeway service road light pole. The vehicle then burst into flames. No other vehicles were involved in this incident and the investigation is continuing. |
