Incidents in Southwest Houston And River Oaks

March 07, 2008 - Houston police are actively investigating separate incidents involving four sexual assaults that occurred in the city’s southwest side as well as an attempted abduction in the River Oaks area.

Police presence has been increased in both areas with overtime patrol programs. Our officers have been provided the necessary information (sketches, suspect information, press conference, etc) and remain vigilant in attempts to locate the suspect(s) responsible for these crimes. In addition, officers with the Houston Police Sex Crimes Unit continue to investigate and follow any and all leads in the southwest area cases.

“The Houston Police Department responds to any and all calls for assistance made by any of our citizens, regardless of location,” said Houston Police Captain Bruce Williams. “When crime rears its head in River Oaks, southwest Houston or anywhere else in our city, we’re going to take action,” Williams said.

We continue to ask anyone who may have information regarding any of these cases to call the Houston Police Department Sex Crimes Unit at 713-308-1180 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
