Double Homicide at 6800 Martin Luther King Boulevard

March 10, 2008 - Houston police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect believed responsible for the fatal shooting of two men at 6800 Martin Luther King Boulevard about 3:55 p. m. on Saturday (March 8).

The male suspect, identified as Librado Medina Jimenez, fled the scene in a black Chevrolet S-10 pickup with “Grim Reaper” sticker across the back window and the word “Chevy” written in gold across the tailgate. He is believed to be enroute to Mexico.

The male victim, Israel Alvarado 18, of 5907 Southwell, suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. A second male victim, Israel Gevara, 50, of 5907 Southwell, suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he later died.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant E. Cisneros and Officer J. Robles reported:

Mr. Alvarado and Mr. Gevara attempted to recover rent from a previous tenant, later identified as Jimenez, when the men got into a physical struggle. Jimenez then shot Gevara and Alvarado, who were father and son.
