Fatal Traffic Accident at 2400 North Freeway Service Road March 11, 2008 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 2400 block of the North Freeway (Interstate 45 North) southbound service road about 6:10 p.m. on Monday (March 10). The driver, Robert Pena, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D. Morgan and Officer M. Lowder reported: A gray Ford Contour was traveling southbound on the service road at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle, slid sideways and struck a wooden pole. The driver died on impact and three other passengers, two children and one adult, were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital with unknown injuries. The investigation is continuing.
