Charges Filed in Fatal Shooting at 100 North Super Street

March 18, 2008 - Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a juvenile male in the 100 block of Super Street about 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday (March 13).

The suspect, identified as Juan Gonzales Jr. (H/m, DOB: 9-7-79), is charged with murder in the 179th State District Court.

The victim, 16, suffered a gunshot wound to the torso and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. D. Howard and Senior Police Officer R. Daniel reported:

The victim and a second juvenile were walking down a concrete bike path when a black vehicle occupied by Gonzales and other suspects approached them. Gonzales shot at the juveniles, striking the victim. The vehicle was found abandoned near the scene.
