Kidnapping Incident at 10101 Forum Park

May 13, 2008 - Two suspects have been arrested and charged in the kidnapping of two children at 10101 Forum Park #1085 about 3 a.m. on Friday (May 9).

Travis Okey Onukwugha (b/m, DOB: 4/1/86), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and burglary with intent to commit aggravated assault while Jennifer Lopez (H/f, DOB: 8/9/75) is charged with aggravated kidnapping. Both suspects are charged in the 184th State District Court. The victim, Kiante Butler, 31, of Houston, suffered a laceration to the head.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Carrillo and Senior Police Officer H.A. Chavez reported:

Mr. Butler and his girlfriend, Sara Heller, were sleeping in the bedroom of their apartment along with each of their one-year old daughters, when Onukwugha kicked in the front door of the apartment. Mr. Butler got up to see what had happened and was confronted by Onukwugha, who was armed with a pistol. Onukwugha struck Butler with the pistol as the victim (Butler) tried to defend himself. Butler bled profusely from his injury and as the two men struggled, Onukwugha also struck Heller. Onukwugha and Lopez then took the two children from the apartment.

Heller’s child was located in the courtyard area of an apartment complex at 12903 Brant Rock about 4 a.m. Both suspects (Onukwugha and Lopez) were located in Onukwugha’s mother’s apartment, as was Butler’s daughter. Lopez is the mother of Butler’s daughter, however Butler has custody of the child.
